Who can apply in clearing?
There are lots of reasons why you may apply through clearing. You might have decided to change your subject or career path. No matter what your situation, clearing can open up exciting opportunities.
You can use clearing if you:
- you’re applying for a place with us after 30 June 2025
- you didn’t receive any offers from universities or if you didn't receive an offer from a university that you wish to attend
- you didn’t meet the conditions of your offers
- you’ve declined your firm place using the ‘decline my place’ button in your application
It's worth remembering that you'll automatically be entered into UCAS clearing if you do not receive an offer from either your conditional firm or your conditional insurance choices.
³ÉÈËBÕ¾ is open to any student who wants to apply to a university, regardless of the qualifications they are currently studying (such as BTECs). Mature students can also use clearing, along with international students. If you are an international student, you should aim to go through clearing as soon as you have your grades. This will give you the time to obtain the necessary visas to be eligible to study in the UK.
When does clearing start and end?
³ÉÈËBÕ¾ officially starts on Saturday 5 July. However, for many students clearing starts with A-level results day on Thursday 14 August 2025, this is because you will not be able to enter clearing until you have your exam results.
Mature students, and those with existing grades, can begin to apply from 5 July.
Applying to us through clearing is quicker than your initial UCAS application and often takes place over the telephone. You can still apply to us through clearing if you have not made an initial UCAS application to any universities this year.
We have places available on a range of courses. To secure your place for 2025 call us on 01905 855111.

On the Telephone:
